Bary was born in Tulear where he started painting at the age of twelve. After a time in Anatanarivo with his family, he then moved to Antsirabe along with his friend, the artist Fulgence.
A self taught artist, he is also adept at Martial arts. This sculpteur, decorator and architect uses his keen sense of graphism to give form to his intricate drawings and paintings. He is the creator of the logo for Air Madagascar!
His artistic career began with drawing, moving to watercolour and he finally found his distinctive style working in oil on paper.
Bary paints the contemporary Malgache architecture that surrounds him. He adds a personal, poetic touch that transforms mere houses into works of art. Bary chooses to work in a dark studio with artificial lighting enabling him to paint during the day or night.
Bary exhibits regularly in Antananarivo, Saint Gilles in France, the Ile d’Oleron, in Saint Germain des Près, in Mauritius, at Moulin Casse
and in Belgium.
