DZERY Rafidinarivo |
“Painting is how I communicate to the world” |
Dzery came to art early on in his life, painting from the age of 10 and turning professional at only 16 years of age.
He exhibited at the Alliance Française, Antsirabe in the year 2000 and later in Antananarivo as well. In Antsirabe he regularly exhibits his work with Fulgence, Délice, Michel Randria, Désiré and Alain Solofoson .
Dzery at first worked mainly in oils, encouraged by his friend Fulgence. Always most critical of his own work, he painstakingly renders watercolours with a “pointilliste” technique. Inspired by the painter Ted Wesson, he continues to paint, using a limited palette, scenes from Madagascar life, pirogues by the shore, local pousse-pousses and the smiling faces of children.
For Dzery, three elements are primordial in life: his love for God, for his family and for his art
