Galerie Zach Edith |
“Painting is like music, I compose with verve and emotion” |
This is how Zach defines his passion for art.
Originally from Fianarantsoa, Zach paints alongside Gaude, Jean Yves Chen, Fulgence, Pierrot Men et Solofoson.
Totally self taught, he passes from watercolour to sanguine and acrylics. An exhibition with the Alliance Française in Antsirabe in 1991 is a great success and his paintings are thus exhibited all over Madagascar when the exhibition does a big tour of the island. This is the pivotal moment, and Zach takes the plunge and decides to become a painter.
Deciding to add his personal touch to his paintings, he paints on rough “jute” cloth with earth-colours fixed according to his own recipes. Thus we encounter his sensual female figures, sculpted in volume and colour. In 2001 he takes up a palette knife and pastes the paint on canvass with gusto. Another great success.
