With a sculptor for a father, Lalaina grew up in Antsirabe surrounded by local artists.
Now installed in Antananarivo, this self-taught painter moved from working in pen and ink, to watercolour, and now works exclusively in acrylics. His realistic scenes of daily life in Madagascar, with their shimmering light and delicate tones reveal the markets, the rice fields and his favoured coast-line in all their glory.
For nearly 20 years now, Lalaina has charmed us with his many exhibitions.
